Business Architecture Specialist Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Avaloq scripts (PL/SQL-based) for core banking functionalities

Lead parameterization efforts to align Avaloq solutions with client-specific business and regulatory requirements

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and solution architects, to translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions

Oversee phases of the development lifecycle including technical analysis, design, implementation, and unit testing of a specific stream.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers.

Contribute technical documentation and maintain clean, well-documented code

Stay up to date with Avaloq development best practices

Business Architecture Specialist Job Qualifications


Key Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

At least 4-6 years of hands-on experience in programming or software development, ideally in enterprise or financial services environments

Proficient in Oracle databases and PL/SQL; familiarity with other relational database systems is a plus

Solid understanding of software development principles, best practices, and software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues

Demonstrated experience in leading development efforts, mentoring team members, and engaging with business and technical stakeholders

Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus

Must Have Qualifications:

Prior experience with the Avaloq Core Banking System

Solid understanding of banking products, services, and related business processes, with the ability to apply this knowledge in technical solution design

Avaloq certification is highly desirable and considered a strong advantage
