Optometrist responsibilities include analyzing vision tests, identifying sight problems, and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. Should have attention to detail and be able to treat all kinds of patients with kindness and discretion, from young children to the elderly. Ultimately, you will ensure the accurate diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries.
Job Description:
Perform comprehensive eye and vision tests
Diagnose refractive error, such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism
Provide necessary management suited for different cases of their patients.
Prescribe prescriptions that meets optimal visual clarity and comfort their patients.
Advise patients on proper eye care techniques
Keep updated and accurate medical records for all patients
Inform patients on how to use and maintain their eyeglasses
Give necessary referrals for patients with additional tests needed to resolve their visual concerns that may not be limited to prescribing of glasses and other optical devices.
Qualification:
Four (4) or Six (6) years graduate of Doctor of Optometry
Examining the human eye, analyzing ocular function, prescribing, and dispensing ophthalmic lenses & other optical devices, and accessories; Conducting ocular exercise and vision training.
Diploma and Certificate of Registration
At least one (1) to two (2) years of related experience
