Bookkeeper


Location: Cebu
Shift: 9:00PM - 6:00AM (Monday-Friday) PHT
Work Arrangement: Onsite

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing basic accounting duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of our bookkeeping processes. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bookkeeping & Financial Accuracy

  • Record and categorize financial transactions
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Review financial reports for accuracy
  • Resolve discrepancies following firm procedures
  • Assist with weekly reconciliations
  • Communicate with clients via email as needed

Payroll Support

  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Prepare payroll tax filings (monthly, quarterly, annual)
  • Prepare W-2s, W-3s, and 1099s
  • Support workers compensation audits
  • Assist with payroll system support and client training

Sales Tax

  • Prepare and file sales tax returns
  • Prepare resale certificates

Working Trial Balance Preparation

  • Support accountants in preparing year-end trial balances for US tax preparation

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (debits/credits, reconciliations, financial statements)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written English communication skills
  • Organized and able to manage deadlines
  • Comfortable asking questions and learning new systems
Prior U.S. accounting experience is not required. We can teach systems and processes - we value accuracy, responsibility, and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, or similar.

  • Experience working in accounting.

  • Certification in bookkeeping (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, CPB).

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with standard office hours.

  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods such as tax season.
