You own the technical accuracy and financial integrity of the general ledger for an Australian-based accounting and advisory firm. You are not just entering data; you are a technical bookkeeper responsible for managing the full transactional lifecyclefrom AP/AR and payroll to complex bank reconciliations using Xero, FYI, and Xero Practice Manager. You eliminate financial ambiguity by ensuring every transaction is coded correctly in alignment with Australian tax standards, serving as the foundational support for senior accountants and tax preparers.

This is a high-accountability role that exists to stabilize the financial reporting and tax compliance of an Australian client base. Best suited for detail-oriented professionals who thrive in early-morning day shifts, value process rigor, and prefer a zero-error work environment.

You're Likely a Strong Fit If You Have

• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or entry-level accounting roles.
• Proven technical mastery of Xero (Experience with FYI and Xero Practice Manager is highly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping standards, including GST coding and payroll compliance.
• Exceptional organizational logic with the ability to resolve complex reconciliation discrepancies independently.
• Willingness to work a fixed early day shift (5:00 AM2:00 PM PH Time) in a fully remote setup.

Strong Signals

• Relevant certification in Bookkeeping or Accounting.
• Experience with additional accounting ecosystems such as MYOB or QuickBooks.
• A track record of supporting the preparation of basic Australian tax returns (BAS/IAS support).

Responsibility Pillars

Financial Records Governance

You act as the primary guardian of the general ledger, ensuring a Single Source of Truth.

• Maintain detailed accounts for payables, receivables, and payroll with absolute precision.
• Conduct regular bank and credit card reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Review financial transactions daily to minimize errors and uphold high Australian compliance standards.

Tax Preparation & Compliance Support

You provide the critical data bridge between daily bookkeeping and formal tax filings.

• Assist in the preparation of basic tax returns and financial statements in line with Australian laws.
• Collaborate with the senior accounting team to gather and organize necessary tax documentation.
• Utilize FYI and Xero Practice Manager to ensure all workpapers are current and audit-ready.

Collaborative Reporting & Insights

You ensure that financial data is transparent, timely, and actionable for stakeholders.

• Prepare regular reports on financial status, highlighting trends or potential issues for internal review.
• Maintain open and professional communication with clients regarding their account status and documentation needs.
• Support the broader team during month-end and year-end close cycles to meet strict Australian deadlines.
