Know More About the Qualifications

  • At least a graduate of any aircraft technical course in the appropriate discipline (Avionics) or an equivalent experience acceptable to PAL express
  • Holder of a valid & current AMS license (Aviation Maintenance Specialist/Avionics rating) with Radio, Electronics and/or Instruments rating issued by CAAP.
  • Must have minimum of 2 years experience as Avionics Mechanic in narrow body aircraft (A320/A321).
  • A320/A321 Level 3 Training & Certificate is an advantage.
  • COM/MR/RTS/ERUP/BSI/NDT/ Authorization is an advantage.
  • Must have a complete set of prescribed tools.

Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Avionics Mechanic is to perform all work requirements on the aircraft in accordance with established standards of quality and safety and in an effective and timely manner.

  • Accomplishes regular servicing and maintenance of aircraft radio, electronic and electrical systems as required in the maintenance checks in accordance with the procedures and standards set forth in the applicable manuals, manufacturer's specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Performs troubleshooting, testing, corrective repairs, or unit replacements of radio and other electronic systems and instruments including wiring, lights, switches and other electrical parts of the aircraft consistent with the quality standards set by the aircraft and/or component manufacturers.
  • Determines defects and unsatisfactory conditions present in the aircraft and diagnoses their causes to pinpoint areas or systems where corrective actions are needed.
  • Accomplishes all issued Airworthiness Directives (AD), Service Bulletins (SB), modifications and alteration instructions pertaining to aircraft avionics systems in accordance with Engineering Orders and / or Mandatory Bulletins.
  • Executes all work assigned in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Signs off work accomplishments in the appropriate records, forms and other documents, which may be needed in the performance of duties.
  • Signs off Operator's maintenance documents in accordance with their defined standards on the customer approved manual.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES FOR AVIONICS MECHANIC WITH AN INSPECTION AUTHORIZATION

  • Conducts shakedown inspection on aircraft, engines, components and appliances received for repair, overhaul or alteration to look for possible damage, giving special attention to all areas adjacent to the obvious damage.
  • Performs in-process inspection on aircraft, engines, components and accessories, and appliances undergoing repair, overhaul or alteration to assure compliance with accepted quality standards and practices.
  • Ensures that all applicable RII items and corrective actions to AML flight remarks are properly stamped-off.
  • Performs measures necessary to address administrative and operational matters. This shall include but not limited to proper manpower allocation and appropriate response to technical / AOG situations.
  • Performs all pertinent inspection with applicable quality control reports and maintains an accurate and accessible recording of such reports to ensure that operational problems are detected, and corrective action taken.
