The
RPA Automation Development Officer design, build, test, and operate automation solutions (RPA, macros, low-code apps) that streamline business processes; translate approved functional specs into robust, secure, and maintainable automations; and partner with business stakeholders and the Re-engineering & Process Automation to plan releases, deploy via orchestrators, and ensure successful delivery and stable operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automation using the approved toolset (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate/Power Apps, Excel VBA/.NET, Kissflow) following coding standards and security guidelines
- Convert functional specs (FSDs) into technical designs, reusable components, and working code; commit to agreed estimates and sprint goals
- Create and maintain Technical Design Documents (TDD) detailing architecture, component logic, dependencies, and security considerations before build
- Package, publish, schedule, and monitor processes through the orchestrator; configure assets/queues and manage credentials per RPA policy
- Execute controlled promotions (DEV→UAT→PROD), prepare release notes, and participate in change reviews
- Articulate and compare alternative development approaches from previous engagements and recommend solutions
- Perform development of prototypes or proof-of-concepts to demonstrate the feasibility and potential impact of automation initiatives
- Author and execute SIT, support UAT with business users, and remediate defects until acceptance criteria are met
- Maintain solution documentation (design, test evidence, runbooks, user manuals) to RPA standards and audit readiness
- Partner with RPA Project Officers/Business Analysts to confirm scope, edge cases, and data; provide build status, risks, and mitigation.
- Participate in playbacks/demos and readiness checks prior to deployment
- Perform hypercare, monitor bot health, and apply fixes/optimizations; hand over to BAU with complete runbooks. (Hypercare cadence aligned to current CoE workflow.)
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any IT-related course, Management Engineering, Mathematics or related disciplines
- 2 years proven experience in automation development, testing, implementation and hypercare/support
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex business requirements as automation opportunities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in project management tools, business process modeling software and automation technologies
- Certification in any automation development is a plus
- Knowledge of RPA tools (UiPath) and low-code platforms (PowerApps, Kissflow)
- Familiarity with automation lifecycle and governance frameworks
- Basic SQL/data validation and understanding of non-functional requirements
- Experience in Intelligent Automation or RPA projects
- Exposure to compliance, risk assessment, and IT governance processes
- Ability to create ROI models and prioritize automation opportunities
