Audit Associates are given a wide variety of diversified assignments under the direction of a supervisor, manager, or partner. You will perform a range of tasks related to auditing, including reviewing financial statements and other documents for accuracy and consistency. You will also be responsible for identifying potential issues or problems with company procedures or policies. You will have the opportunity to take on larger, more complex engagements if needed. Performance is judged based on the quality of work, application of accounting knowledge, and ability to meet time constraints.
Essential Duties:
- Assist audit engagement teams in performing audits of companies
- Perform audit procedures and document results
- Obtain an understanding of the client's internal controls and perform various tests of controls
- Research audit and accounting issues to ensure audit engagements comply with GAAS and GAAP
- Records transactions in ledgers, prepares trial balances, and simple financial statements
- Reconcile accounts to control accounts.
- Performs schedule computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculates depreciation expense.
- Performs audit or review procedures assigned by supervisors.
- Performs other accounting and auditing as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Other Duties:
- May be given senior-level responsibilities of planning and scheduling engagements.
- May be required to perform all phases of an engagement, including report writing and tax return preparation.
- May assist/supervise other staff accountants.
- Such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy (BSA)
- Certified Public Accountant, but not required.
- At least two (2) years of external audit experience in a public accounting environment.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) and strong customer service orientation
- Ability to identify accounting issues, conduct research, and suggest solutions
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proficient in using computers, MS Office, and spreadsheets.
- Preferably residing near or within Metro Manila.
- Preferably can start ASAP
