Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field with a major in Accounting
- CPA commenced or working toward CPA (or equivalent professional qualification)
- Minimum 2-3 years of solid Australian taxation experience for diverse clients
- Proven experience preparing tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, including CGT, Division 7A, FBT, GST, and budgeting/fee preparation
- Experience using Xero; exposure to Australian accounting software is an advantage
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Responsibilities
- Complete Australian income tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts
- Perform Australian tax compliance tasks using established procedures and regulatory guidelines
- Contribute to client tax planning by preparing supporting calculations, schedules, and relevant documentation
- Track lodgment obligations and ensure all returns and documents are completed within required deadlines
- Prepare and submit required statutory forms, schedules, and compliance records
- Support the preparation of financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards and reporting requirements
- Produce management accounts, schedules, and supporting financial reports
- Develop well-organized workpapers that clearly document calculations, procedures, and completed accounting work
- Review financial information for potential accounting concerns and raise issues to the appropriate senior team member
