The Qualifications We Seek
- CA or CPA qualified; CA ANZ, CPA Australia, or equivalent credentials highly regarded, Philippine CPA preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Australian Public Practice or Business Services
- Proven team leadership experience with review responsibilities
- Strong Australian tax experience covering financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
- Solid understanding of Australian tax legislation, GST, compliance, and lodgement requirements
- Background working with offshore/onshore or global accounting teams
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Class, MAS, AST, or similar accounting and tax platforms
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with workflow, compliance, or document systems such as BGL, CAS, Visio, PDF editors, HowNow, or similar
- Proven ability to manage workloads, monitor SLAs/KPIs, and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and professional communication skills
- Exposure to Australian accounting firms, lodgement calendars, business advisory, or tax planning is an advantage
- Experience mentoring junior accountants is preferred
- Knowledge of SMSF and superannuation tax matters is an advantage
Your Daily Tasks
- Help manage client relationships while partnering with internal teams to deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes
- Oversee selected client accounts as needed and provide coverage when an account lead is unavailable
- Serve as a secondary contact for stakeholders and coordinate projects involving multiple teams
- Recognize additional service opportunities that enhance client value
- Maintain clear and professional communication on timelines, scope, and deliverables
- Guide and develop accounting team members through coaching and structured learning plans
- Conduct technical training and support professional skill development
- Encourage growth pathways from junior to senior positions
- Evaluate current systems, workflows, and processes to improve efficiency and service quality
- Introduce stronger practices, automation, and smarter ways of working
- Maintain compliance with internal standards, documentation, and security requirements
- Oversee service timelines and quality commitments with key stakeholders
- Resolve resourcing or workflow challenges to meet urgent priorities
- Track productivity, turnaround times, and quality metrics against targets
- Escalate risks early and implement practical solutions promptly
- Examine financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
- Assess interim accounts, tax planning schedules, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Prepare and review BAS and Annual FBT obligations
- Provide support on more complex entity structures and reporting needs
- Use technical research to deliver sound recommendations and advisory guidance
- Identify opportunities that improve client operations and commercial outcomes
- Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across local and offshore teams
- Partner with other business units to ensure smooth end-to-end delivery
