Role: AU Accountant

Work Arrangement: Work from Home

Location: Any CS Site - Ortigas / Makati / Cebu / Davao / Bacolod / Angeles / Mabalacat

Schedule: Morning Shift

Job Description

This role will primarily focus on bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, BAS preparation, and maintaining accurate accounting records using cloud accounting software such as Xero and MYOB. Candidates who are also able to assist with financial statements and income tax return preparation will be highly regarded.

Cost efficiency is important for this role; work quality, reliability, and attention to detail are equally important.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Transaction Processing

  • Manage and review bank feeds within accounting software
  • Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process general bookkeeping transactions
  • Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and manage accounts payable
  • Monitor accounts receivable and outstanding balances
  • Reconcile supplier and customer accounts

Payroll Processing

  • Process payroll transactions
  • Maintain payroll records
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting

BAS & Compliance Support

  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and IAS for review
  • Assist with GST coding and GST reconciliations
  • Prepare working papers to support BAS lodgements

Accounting Support

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements
  • Prepare accounting working papers for review
  • Assist with the preparation of Australian income tax returns (individuals, companies, and trusts) where capable

Other Duties

  • Assist with other accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative tasks as required by the firm
  • Provide support to the onshore accounting team when needed
  • Perform other duties reasonably related to the role as assigned from time to time

Qualification And Requirement (Non-negotiable)

Software Requirements

Candidates should have experience with Australian cloud accounting software, including:

  • Xero
  • MYOB
  • QuickBooks (desirable)
  • Experience with document management tools such as Dext, or similar systems will be considered an advantage.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 23 years of experience working with Australian accounting clients or Australian accounting firms
  • Experience in Australian bookkeeping and BAS preparation
  • Strong understanding of Australian GST requirements
  • Experience using Xero and/or MYOB
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client files
  • Good written English communication skills
  • Ability to follow established accounting procedures and meet deadlines
  • Candidates who can assist with financial statement preparation and Australian tax return preparation will be highly regarded.
