COMPANY OVERVIEW:
We areseekinga highly organized and detail-orientedAssociateProject Development Engineer to support the development of renewable energy projects from early-stage planning through to ready-to-build status. The successful candidate willassistin managing technical, regulatory, and administrative aspects of project development while ensuring that activitiesremainaligned with project timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
This role requires strong technical capability, organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Technical Design:and Engineering:
- Collaborate with project teams to develop technical specifications, conceptual designs, and engineering documentation for renewable energy projects.
- Support the preparation of technical inputs for procurement activities, including requests for quotations and vendor proposals.
- Assistin the development of engineering designs and technical project documentation.
- Develop scopes of work for consultants for engineering design studies, technical advisory services, and owner's engineering support.
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of proposals and provide recommendations for vendor and consultant selection.
- Coordinate and manage external consultants engagedforengineering, environmental, and technical studies.
- Prepare sketches, layouts, and drawings necessary to communicate basic project concepts and design information.
- Review and provide comments on technical reports, drawings, and design submissions from consultants and suppliers.
Project Development and Planning
- Support the execution of project development activities from origination through ready-to-build stage.
- Assist in preparing detailed project development plans, including schedules, budgets, and risk assessments.
- Assistin the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, ensuring that expenditures are aligned with approved budgets and timelines.
- Monitor project progress andassistin implementing corrective actions to ensure milestones are met.
- Support project site planning, includingplotting land areas, reviewing land survey data, andoptimizingproject layouts.
- Participate ininvestment committee discussionsandassistin preparing technical inputs and project documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams includinglegal, finance, environmental, and land acquisitionfunctions.
- Provide updates onproject status, key risks, and mitigation strategiesto management.
Regulatory Compliance and Submissions:
- Prepare and coordinate submissions ofapplications, reports, and documentation required by regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with relevantlaws, regulations, policies, and technical standardsapplicable to renewable energy projects.
- Coordinate with government agencies and consultants tofacilitatepermitting, approvals, and regulatory clearances.
- Conduct site visits and inspections with government officers and consultants for permit applications and site assessments.
- Monitor the status of permits and regulatory submissions and follow up with relevant agencies to ensuretimelyapprovals.
- Assistin addressing regulatory queries and coordinating responses to government agencies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identifyopportunities to improve project development processes and internal workflows.
- Contribute to the implementation ofbest practices in renewable energy project development.
- Stay informed onindustry trends, technologies, and regulatory developmentsrelevant to renewable energy projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to submit their resumes. Preference will be given to candidates with at least two (2) years of experience in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy design or project development.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; workingknowledge of Microsoft Project is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Google Earth, PVsyst, GIS tools, or similar software is beneficial.
