experienced Associate Backend Engineer who has a background in

Minimum Requirements- General Qualifications:
- Be a Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines
- Secure a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

- Professional Experience:
- Command a minimum of 0-2 years of progressive experience in software development, with direct experience contributing to production backend services
- Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully developing and delivering medium-sized features and solving technical debt items with clear requirements
- Exhibit experience participating actively in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting of deployed services
- Technical Skills:
- Master at least one core backend programming language (Java, Python, Go, Node.js) and its standard development tools and frameworks
- Command solid proficiency in API design (REST/GraphQL) and database interaction (SQL or NoSQL querying and basic schema design)
- Possess practical knowledge of version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization basics (Docker) for local development and deployment
- Specialized Knowledge:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) or functional programming paradigms and apply them to write clean, maintainable code
- Possess in-depth knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and mocking to ensure high code quality and reliability
- Exhibit proven capability in debugging complex application issues using logs, monitoring tools, and standard debugging practices
Good To Have
- Hold a certification in basic cloud concepts or DevOps fundamentals (Cloud Practitioner, Docker basics)
- Bring experience working with a specific message queuing technology (RabbitMQ, Kafka) in a development capacity
- Possess knowledge of web security fundamentals (cross-site scripting prevention, SQL injection prevention)
Key Responsibilities- Software Development and Engineering:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code
- Develop robust, secure, and scalable APIs and web services
- Implement data storage solutions, including database schema design and optimization
- Ensure optimal performance, stringent security, and seamless scalability of backend systems
- Integrate third-party services and platforms effectively
- Write comprehensive technical documentation for all backend services
- Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Write and execute comprehensive unit and integration tests for all backend code
- Ensure the quality, reliability, and data integrity of all backend functionalities
- Conduct thorough performance and load testing on backend systems
- Deployment and Operations:
- Collaborate seamlessly with DevOps team for the smooth deployment, scaling, and operational aspects of backend services
- Monitor backend service performance, latency, and error rates in production environments
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, frontend engineers, QA engineers and other backend engineers to define requirements and deliver robust solutions
- Actively participate in code reviews, providing technical guidance and sharing specialized knowledge
- Document API specifications and system behaviors clearly and accurately
This is a full-time contractual position following the 9 AM to 6 PM Manila schedule.
