Primary Function: Provides technical assistance to users of manufacturing systems and software or web applications. Resolves issues or problems related to the expected performance of an application. Maintains data and database, including update of tables. Generate and maintain reports and portals that support the accomplishment of the AFO performance metrics. Can lead the team in providing efficient and reliable performance of duties and service to customers.

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree (computer studies or engineering)

Experience: 0-2 years of work-related experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the electronics or semiconductor industry).

Knowledge, skill and abilities:

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and electronic communication tools such as MS Outlook.
  • Database Expertise: Knowledgeable in at least two database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL) with the ability to write and execute standard SQL queries.
  • Programming Capability: Can interpret programming languages (e.g.JAVA, VB, .NET), with practical experience in application testing and troubleshooting.
  • Web Development Skills: Familiar with front-end and back-end web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, PHP, CSS, and XML.
  • Operating Systems: Comfortable working with both Windows and Linux/Unix environments.
  • Network Awareness: Understanding of network infrastructure and topologies to support system monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Support Methodologies: Working knowledge of help desk operations and technical support processes, with the ability to respond promptly to user issues.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a knack for identifying root causes, applying structured problem-solving tools, and recommending effective solutions.
  • Communication: Clear and professional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to educate end-users and document procedures effectively.
  • Personal Attributes: Resourceful, detail-oriented, and persistent. Demonstrates teamwork, adaptability, and leadership potential by collaborating with peers and handling major issues responsibly.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge Base Contribute by documenting procedures in the KB site for new issues.
  • Proactively monitor systems and software applications to ensure optimal performance and availability, especially MES applications such as OPCENTER, CAMSTAR, PROMIS, IRAC, QA Database, U2, and other production applications.
  • Investigate applications and databases to identify the root causes of issues.
  • Educate end users on the use of manufacturing systems, software, or web applications, and address their queries.
  • Respond promptly to calls or issues from the user community.
  • Test application programs and web applications, correct errors, and recommend improvements.
  • Analyze, identify, and query data to generate reports based on user-defined requirements.
  • Document issues, problems, or user requests to create Pareto reports, and lead problem-solving activities to identify root causes and develop solutions.
  • Examine database records to ensure data integrity and recommend improvements for performance and efficiency.
  • Assist in software application development by serving as a tester.
  • Collaborate with peers, programmers, and supervisors to establish and follow best practices in SQL scripting and programming logic.
  • Lead team tasks and responsibilities, effectively handling major issues.
  • Perform tasks and follow instructions as assigned by supervisors.
