Role Summary
The
Accounting Staff is responsible for supporting daily treasury and general accounting operations, ensuring accurate processing of collections, proper recording of financial transactions, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in cash management, tax compliance, account reconciliation, and audit support, working closely with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process incoming payments and ensure accurate recording of collections
- Prepare and report treasury activities, including collections, cash positions, and other relevant financial data
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers and cash accounts to ensure all payments are properly accounted for and posted
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries
- Perform data entry and reporting in the BIR Tax System for VAT and Withholding Tax
- Reconcile all tax-related accounts and provide support during tax assessments
- Assist in preparing documentation and schedules for external auditors
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all treasuries and cash-related transactions in preparation for audits
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and GAAP requirements
Qualifications
To perform this role successfully, the individual must consistently demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Up to three (3) years of experience in general accounting functions, preferably within a BPO or Shared Services environment
- Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (required)
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with accounting software, preferably Oracle
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic work environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
- Willingness to work on a mid-shift schedule and in a hybrid work arrangement
