Job Description

The Segment Assistant Accounting Manager oversees the preparation, analysis, and submission of accurate and timely financial reports for the assigned business segment, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing management with financial insights to support decision-making.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting

  • Produce the Project Scorecard of assigned projects on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports for the assigned operating segment.
  • Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports of the segment.
  • Review financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with PFRS and company policies.
  • Evaluate Requests for Budget Approval (RBA) and OPRS.
  • Perform reconciliation during project close out and process reversal or adjusting entries as needed.
  • Consolidate segment results for management reporting.

Analysis & Review

  • Conduct variance analysis of actual vs. budget, forecast, and prior year results.
  • Provide commentary on segment performance and identify key drivers of variances.
  • Support the preparation of management reports and board materials.
  • Provide financial impact of promotions, marketing strategies and changes in budget.

Coordination & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with segment finance teams, project development team and other departments to ensure timely submission of financial data.
  • Provide financial guidance to the project development team.
  • Liaise with auditors (internal and external) during periodic reviews and year-end audits.
  • Work closely with FP&A and other departments for alignment of financial information.

Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies within the segment.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support compliance with tax and regulatory reporting requirements relevant to the segment.

Process Improvement

  • Assist in identifying gaps and inefficiencies in current reporting processes and recommend solutions.
  • Participate in projects aimed at streamlining financial reporting workflows.
  • Support the implementation of best practices, templates, and automation tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce turnaround time and minimize errors in financial reporting.

People Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and train staff assigned to the segment.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor deliverables to meet reporting deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of any Bachelor's Degree related to Finance or Accounting, or any other related programs.
  • With at least five (5) years of relevant experience in financial reporting or general accounting; with at least two (2) years in a Supervisory or Assistant Manager role.
  • Strong knowledge of PFRS and corporate financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience using SAP systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Amenable to work in Pasay City from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.
