Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for driving financial reporting and analysis of channel partner portfolio, analyzing business performance, explaining key drivers and making actionable recommendations to drive portfolio performance. This role involves financial modeling, trend analysis, and collaboration with sales, finance, and operations teams to support top line growth while optimizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Residual Analysis & Financial Management:

Reconciliation of monthly residual payments and other primary sources of revenue.

Monitor revenue trends and identify discrepancies in residual payments.

Perform variance analysis to assess profitability and optimize residual revenue streams.

Merchant Pricing & Profitability Optimization:

Develop and refine merchant pricing strategies, including Interchange Plus, Tiered, and Flat Rate models.

Analyze transaction fees, interchange costs, and risk factors to improve pricing models.

Work with sales teams to structure competitive and profitable merchant pricing agreements.

Financial Reporting & Data Analysis:

Provide leadership with timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis to monitor business KPIs and financial results to enable key strategic decision-making.

Build complex financial models for recurring and ad hoc reporting purposes.

Provide insights into revenue and cost variances to budget.

Strategic Collaboration & Process Improvement:

Implement process improvements to streamline residual reconciliation and reporting.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, contractual agreements, and internal financial policies.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • 4+ years of experience in financial analysis at a payment processing company.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of Interchange, card brand fees, merchant pricing models, and residual revenue structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools (experience with BI tools is a plus).
  • Experience with payment processing platforms (particularly Fiserv)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and present complex financial data to stakeholders.
