We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to drive growth and market share in our agricultural products division. This key position will manage distributor relationships, develop strategic sales plans, and lead a team of sales professionals and promoters to achieve organizational objectives in the South Luzon area.
Purpose of Role
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving organizational objectives to grow market share in the assigned territory. This role ensures overall territory business targets are met by managing and performing sales force requirements according to company policies. The position focuses on developing action plans for main distributors and end-user purchases to maximize profit margins and achieve client loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Management
- Develop tailored action plans for main distributors based on client needs and available resources to increase sell-in sales and earn distributor loyalty
- Create and implement strategic plans to stimulate agriculturalist purchases (sell-out) based on established sales programs with distributors
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to plan and coordinate product advertising campaigns, defining volume, price, and special payment terms to promote sales and fulfill annual program objectives
Process/Operations Management
- Manage stocklists, reprogrammings, and stockouts to provide solutions to distributors and guarantee consistent market presence
- Lead forecast development by consolidating information delivered from each region
- Serve as the critical connection point between distribution channels and the management team.
- Delivering information to distributors regarding policies, product releases, and campaigns
- Receiving and addressing distributor concerns and claims by coordinating with appropriate internal departments.
Financial Management
- Strategically manage product pricing within established boundaries to maximize profit margins while maintaining market competitiveness
People Management
- Build, manage, and develop a high-performing team of Sales Representatives and Promoters
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to ensure team success
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering or any agriculture related courses
- Specialization in marketing or commercial areas highly desirable
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in agriculture, preferably with agrochemicals or similar products
- Proven experience managing and developing sales teams
- Track record of successful territory management and distributor relationship development
Technical Skills
- Strong sales management capabilities with demonstrated results
- Solid understanding of basic financial concepts and pricing strategies
- Comprehensive knowledge of biological problems, agricultural products, and crops in the areas of influence
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales forecasting tools
