Job Description

Role Summary

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is responsible for performing day-to-day accounts receivable functionsincluding billing, invoicing, cash application, account reconciliations, and resolving customer billing issueswhile also driving continuous improvement across AR processes. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, a process-oriented mindset, and a desire to streamline and enhance AR efficiency and accuracy.

WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM 6:00 PM Central Standard Time (11:00 PM 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

Essential Functions

  • Process and apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire, credit card) to appropriate accounts.
  • Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate customer account records, including deposits, credits, and adjustments.
  • Research and resolve billing issues, short pays, unapplied cash, and customer account questions.
  • Perform month-end AR closing tasks, including aging review, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Assist with customer account setup and maintenance.
  • Analyze AR workflows to identify bottlenecks, errors, or inefficiencies.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain AR process documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (AP, Operations, Sales, IT, Finance) to improve overall order-to-cash processes.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Advanced computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to understand raw data and tables in accounting software to build reports
  • Experience in Microsoft Great Plains is a plus
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication with co-workers, vendors, customers, and external auditors
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision
  • Analytical skills with particular attention to detail and accuracy, personally committed to work quality
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environmentindependent worker, self-directed
