Role Overview
- Job Title: AVP - Index & Dividend Tracking (APAC) / Front Office Support.
- Location: Manila.
- Department: ITO - APAC GM & ALMT Operations (US MO Operations).
Reporting Line: Reports directly to a designated Manager and functionally to a Global Head.
Objective: To facilitate operational processes that track and deliver precise index compositions and dividend data. These are essential market data elements used throughout the Global Markets business.
Primary Responsibilities
In this role, the candidate leads the end-to-end index and dividend-tracking operating process, ensuring smooth execution and proactive risk mitigation.
Index & Market Data Management
- Announcement Tracking: Monitor all index change/rebalance notices, calculate required simulated baskets (buy/sell), and ensure accurate execution.
- Methodology Analysis: Research upcoming index reshuffles and methodology updates, quantify their impact, and communicate findings to the Front Office.
- Rebalancing: Monitor and manage index rebalancing activities, including the creation of simulated indexes to support client and internal needs.
Dividend & Corporate Action Tracking
- Data Maintenance: Record dividend announcements in the system in real time, compute the forward-price impact, and disseminate results to stakeholders.
- Verification: Track dividend announcements across all relevant securities and verify accuracy against source information.
- Inquiry Resolution: Respond professionally to requests for index creation, dividend amendments, and corporate-action queries.
Operational Excellence & Risk Control
- Data Integrity: Conduct regular reconciliations and uphold rigorous control standards to mitigate operational risk.
- Risk Monitoring: Monitor key risk indicators, flag potential issues early, and contribute to remediation actions.
- Process Improvement: Diagnose workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements or system enhancements.
Requirements for Success
Technical Competencies
- Index Expertise: Deep understanding of index methodologies, including construction, weighting schemes, and the treatment of corporate actions.
- Quantitative Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel, VBA) and familiarity with data analysis tools to deliver automation.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed of market regulations and industry standards to ensure compliant operations.
