You are a detail-driven finance professional who takes genuine pride in clean books, accurate records, and a payables process that just works. You know your way around a supplier ledger, you catch discrepancies before they become problems, and you are the kind of person whose reconciliations are always on time — because you built the habit of making them so.

This is a fully remote role supporting the finance team of a growing Australian trade business. You will own the end-to-end accounts payable function and maintain day-to-day bookkeeping with a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and independent judgment. You're Likely a Strong Fit If You Have

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in accounts payable and bookkeeping
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
• Proven experience using cloud-based accounting or ERP systems
• Medium to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal English communication — you work directly with an offshore finance team

Strong Signals

• Hands-on experience with Xero, Simpro, Levesys, MYOB, or a similar ERP platform
• Background supporting construction, electrical, trade, or project-based businesses
• CPA qualification, accounting degree, or equivalent tertiary credential
• Prior experience working remotely with an Australian-based finance team

Responsibility Pillars

Accounts Payable

You own the supplier payment cycle from invoice receipt through to reconciliation.

• Process supplier invoices accurately and on time, matching each to an approved purchase order
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies; follow up internally on missing PO approvals
• Reconcile supplier statements monthly and prepare weekly and monthly payment runs for approval
• Monitor supplier accounts, resolve outstanding issues, and maintain supplier master data and onboarding documentation
• Manage the accounts payable inbox and ensure compliance with payment terms and company policies

Bookkeeping & General Ledger

You ensure the books are clean, current, and audit-ready at all times.

• Perform daily bank reconciliations and reconcile credit card transactions and employee expenses
• Maintain general ledger integrity; process journals and accruals as directed
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain fixed asset registers where required and assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting

Financial Administration & Compliance

You keep records organised, processes documented, and the team well-supported.

• Maintain electronic filing systems and ensure data accuracy across ERP and accounting systems
• Assist with audit requests and prepare ad hoc management reports as needed
• Support process improvement initiatives and document finance procedures and workflows
