CLIENT BACKGROUND
A California-based firm that has been providing accounting, tax, and business consulting services to both individuals and businesses across the United States and globally.
Their client base consists primarily of small to medium-sized businesses, with a strong presence in the software sector, as well as clients in beverage distribution and manufacturing. The firm is recognized for being detail-oriented, thorough, and technology-driven, having been one of the first in their field to adopt online tools two decades ago. Their work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, relying on professionals who are both tech-savvy and self-starters, capable of adapting quickly to the evolving needs of clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle end-to-end bookkeeping and accounts payable processes for clients, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently.
- Manage AP activities, including invoice processing, payment coordination, vendor communication, and resolving discrepancies.
- Interface directly with client staff and vendors to address AP-related questions and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Support the month-end closing process, including preparing schedules, reviewing entries, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Review and validate transactions and financial records for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding.
- Review the work of other team members as needed, providing feedback and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Code and categorize transactions with precision, providing clean, reliable data for financial reporting.
- Support clients with day-to-day accounting needs and contribute to efficient, high-quality client service.
- Assist with administrative and other accounting tasks as needed to support smooth day-to-day operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 4-5 years of experience supporting U.S. clients or working in a U.S. accounting firm.
- Strong experience in Accounts Payable, with the ability to independently manage AP processes and interact directly with client staff and vendors.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero, Bill.com, and Microsoft Excel (required).
- Experience with Ramp, NetSuite, and Microsoft Teams is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, particularly when reviewing financial transactions and the work of others.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to work professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- Ability to review and provide quality control over accounting and AP work, with the potential to take on senior or lead-level responsibilities.
