About the Team:
The Financial Crime Unit (FCU) operates as a managed services delivery team supporting global financial institutions with AML, transaction monitoring, investigations, and regulatory compliance activities. The team works within a structured, high-volume delivery model with clearly defined quality, productivity, and governance standards.
FCU teams collaborate closely with Team Leaders, Quality Control, and global stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions, supporting more complex AML delivery requirements and investigations.
Role Summary:
The FCU Associate (AML Transaction Monitoring Analyst) is responsible for independently reviewing transaction monitoring alerts and conducting investigations to identify potentially suspicious activity in line with regulatory requirements, client policies, and internal quality standards.
This role is intended for professionals with prior experience in AML transaction monitoring or related financial crime functions who can exercise sound judgment, manage alerts independently, and escalate risks appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently reviewing and analyzing transaction monitoring alerts
- Conducting end-to-end investigations using transaction data, customer profiles, and supporting documentation
- Identifying trends, typologies, and risk indicators associated with potential financial crime
- Preparing precise documentation of findings, escalating high-risk cases, and potentially filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as required.
- Escalating suspicious activity in accordance with defined procedures and service level expectations
- Timely and accurate tracker updates and submission of required forms in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Supporting the preparation and filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), where applicable
- Maintaining complete and audit-ready documentation of investigations performed
- Monitoring alert volumes and managing workload against agreed turnaround times
- Participating in quality reviews, feedback discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborating with local and offshore teams to support global AML delivery requirements
- Supporting ad hoc operational and analytical tasks as required
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree or college graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in AML transaction monitoring, investigations, compliance, or regulated financial services
- Familiarity with AML regulations, transaction monitoring systems, and escalation frameworks, with exposure to building SARs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently while managing deadlines and ensuring high quality reviews
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, detailed narrative reports
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
Must be amenable to work onsite in Ayala, Makati from Mondays-Fridays under a shifting schedule (Morning/MidShift).
