An
Amazon Supply Chain Analyst supports the
end-to-end logistics and supply chain processes for private-label products (Amazon's own brands or seller private label brands). This includes analyzing supply data, tracking inventory, forecasting demand, identifying issues, and working closely with sourcing and fulfillment partners to ensure products are available on time and at optimal cost.
Key Responsibilities
Typical duties include:
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect and analyze supply chain, inventory, and sales data to identify trends and issues
- Prepare reports and dashboards to support decision-making and forecasting
- Identify root causes of supply chain inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Inventory & Demand Planning
- Monitor stock levels and recommend replenishment to prevent stockouts or excess inventory
- Work with forecasting tools to balance demand with inventory supply
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with sourcing, procurement, operations, and finance teams to coordinate supply chain activities
- Communicate findings and action plans to internal stakeholders
Process Improvement
- Suggest and help implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce cost
- Standardize reporting and operational tools across teams
Amazon-Specific Tasks
- Coordinate inbound shipments to Amazon Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) warehouses
- Ensure compliance with Amazon policies and inventory placement requirements
- Support dynamic supply planning around seasonal demand or promotions
Typical Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field often required
- Some roles value a Master's degree, especially at more senior levels
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas)
- Experience with data analysis tools and ERP or inventory systems (SQL, Power BI/Tableau, SAP, similar)
- Ability to use analytics to interpret trends and build meaningful recommendations
Experience
- Experience in supply chain operations, planning, logistics, or analytics often 23+ years depending on level
- Experience or familiarity with Amazon FBA logistics, private label brands, or e-commerce supply chains is a strong advantage
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication (verbal + written) for cross-team collaboration
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills (Optional But Beneficial)
- Certification in supply chain (e.g., APICS/CSCP)
- Familiarity with forecasting tools or data visualization platforms
- Experience with Amazon systems (Vendor/Seller Central), dashboards, and FBA processes
