Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Function Head, the Aircon Technician primarily installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs air conditioners of all Loc&Stor 24/7 facilities. Also performs maintenance tasks when necessary.

Job Responsibilities

Performs routine preventive maintenance (see PM scope) tasks to ensure that equipment and machines continue to run smoothly.

Inspects AC parts such as electrical panels, indoor unit, outdoor unit, temperature, and humidity perform other maintenance actions, following SOP.

Inspects and tests equipment to locate damage or worn parts and diagnose malfunctions or read work orders/service reports to determine/verify required repairs.

Repairs and rebuilds defective parts in air-conditioning units and related equipment using hand tools and power tools.

Reports to Maintenance Function Head, Facility Managers, and Assistant Facility Managers updates and requests that need supervisorial action or decisions (those out of the routine preventive maintenance).

Prepares daily reports and weekly reports of PM activities.

Performs maintenance roles by ensuring clean, safe, and secure facilities.

Assists and observes AC contractors during inspections and repairs.

Signs off /Accepts AC contractor works once completed.

Shares basic knowledge of doing the preventive maintenance with other maintenance staff.

Preventive Maintenance/Repair Scope

Operational and Visual Inspection

Cleaning of outdoor coil fins and fans

Checking and cleaning of unit casing. Unit must be free from corrosion, paint parts if needed/ask to paint parts.

Observation and checking of the compressor operations. Replacement/repair parts if needed.

Observation and checking of motor and fan operations. Replacement/repair parts if needed.

Checking of unit excessive vibration

Inspection of refrigerant filters and driers.

Cleaning of electrical parts such as PCB boards using air blower.

Inspect system for refrigerant leaks. Repair if needed.

Checking operation and do adjustments

Cleaning of AC air filter system

Clearing and cleaning drain lines and drain pans

Cleaning of evaporator coils and condensers.

Replacement of pulleys and belts

Replacement of AC parts and Filters

Job Requirements

Graduate or undergraduate of Engineering, Electrical, Vocational Course (Ac tech related).

Minimum Of At Least 1-year Aircon Technician Experience.

Have current drivers license preferred but not required and must be able to travel to several facilities.

Certification or Relevant Trainings related to Airconditioning Servicing is preferred but not required.

Core Competencies

Ability to communicate in conversational English both verbal and written.

Sense of urgency and can work under minimum supervision.

Able to identify and critical concerns and escalate to supervisors.

Teamwork and collaboration.

Technical Skills

Required skill(s): Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs air-conditioning units; Ensures compliance with proper safety procedures and specifications related to AC; Schedules and completes preventive maintenance for the air conditioning equipment.

Knowledge in using Microsoft office tools, composing simple reports, and presenting the information to supervisors.
