Job Description

Cashiering Duties

  • Receive, record, and issue official receipts for client payments (funeral packages, memorial plans, services, and merchandise).
  • Manage petty cash fund, daily collections, and ensure timely deposit to the companys bank account.
  • Prepare and reconcile daily cash and sales reports for submission to Accounting.
  • Monitor client accounts, installment payments, and balances, ensuring proper posting and follow-up.
  • Safeguard financial records, receipts, and cash on hand in accordance with company policies.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain client files, contracts, permits, and other service-related documentation.
  • Assist in processing death certificates, burial/cremation permits, and other government or regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clerical support to the funeral director, operations team, and client families as needed.
  • Manage branch office supplies, utilities, and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, partner chapels, cemeteries, and other service providers when required.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports (sales, collections, expenses, and operations updates) to management.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or any related course (preferred but not required).
  • With at least 1 year of experience in cashiering, accounting, or administrative work; experience in funeral services industry is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, cash handling, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and comfortable with computer systems.
  • High integrity, trustworthiness, and attention to detail.
  • Compassionate, customer-focused, and able to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
