Actuarial Analyst - Property Lines
Key Responsibilities:
. Prepare monthly price monitor data for Property Programs: Convert the information received from program partners into a standardized format to support efficient analysis and reporting. Identify data anomalies and perform quality checks to communicate findings to program partners as needed.
. Improve consistency in benchmark rate grouping (SIC 4-digit) by reviewing SIC definitions, AM Best occupancy reports, and other industry benchmarks.
. Support rate reviews across multiple profit centers within US Property line of business: Consolidate bound pricing data from program partners and develop comparative analyses by the key rating variables such as states, exposure size, perils, and etc.
. Develop portfolio analysis tools for Pricing Actuaries: Streamline data workflows and build tools that allow efficient review of portfolio metrics, including the ability to segment and analyze portfolios across multiple dimensions.
. Perform ad-hoc data analysis or market research, as requested by the team.
Requirements:
. 2+ years of experience with P&C insurance. Familiarity with Commercial Property insurance is a strong plus.
. Proficiency in Excel: Ability to perform analytical tasks with minimal ramp up time. Experience building Excel based tools or dashboards is preferred.
. Experience in scripting or programming languages such as SQL or R is a plus.
. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills: Accuracy is essential when working with pricing data The candidate should be able to identify issues and propose effective solutions to business problems.
. Excellent communication skills: Ability to clearly explain analytical findings, both verbally and in writing, in an efficient and professional manner.
