This role will support end-to-end actuarial operations by providing technical support for valuation, pricing, and reporting for the General Insurance business while ensuring the accuracy and consistency of actuarial data and outputs. This role focuses on operational execution and cross-functional coordination to support business initiatives. The role is expected to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in delivering various aspects of actuarial work.
Valuation Of Liabilities
Perform regular valuation of policy and claims reserves in accordance with local statutory requirements and group reporting standards.
Assist in preparing detailed reserve reports with documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and results.
Pricing And Product Development
Contribute to the product development process through pricing analysis, regulatory filing preparation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and technical review of product documents.
Support the development of pricing models and profitability assessments for various insurance products and distribution lines.
Assist in reviewing experience studies, claims patterns, and pricing assumptions for new and existing products.
Regulatory Reporting
Prepare and compile actuarial exhibits and fulfill regulatory actuarial submissions (e.g., reserve certification, solvency reports).
Ensure compliance with guidelines from the Insurance Commission and actuarial practice standards.
Business Planning And Forecasting
Provide actuarial inputs for the annual business plan and financial forecasting processes.
Conduct variance analysis and sensitivity testing to support business decisions and performance reviews.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Maintain strong working relationships with other departments such as Business Development, Underwriting, Claims, Risk, Finance, and IT.
Actively participate in cross-functional projects involving pricing, strategy, product innovation, and data initiatives.
Documentation And Controls
Ensure robust documentation of actuarial methods, models, assumptions, and results to support transparency and audit readiness.
Follow and help enhance internal controls and governance procedures related to actuarial processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree / 4-Year Course Graduate
At least 1-2 years of experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong modeling and data handling skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently.
Strong interest in InsurTech and the use of data analytics in insurance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferably with hands-on experience with actuarial software such as Prophet/AXIS and coding in tools such as Excel and Power BI
