Location: Philippines (Remote)

Work Schedule: Central Standard Time, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm

About the Role

The Accounts Payable Lead will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounts payable operations, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time. This role works closely with the Assistant Controller to maintain strong internal controls, improve AP procedures, and support financial reporting processes.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in managing accounts payable functions while mentoring team members and maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounts payable operations including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payment processing
  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and correct general ledger coding
  • Ensure timely processing of vendor payments while maintaining compliance with company policies
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and internal accounts payable questions
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including AP accruals and reconciliations
  • Assist the Assistant Controller in maintaining and improving AP policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Train, mentor, and provide guidance to accounts payable staff
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within AP operations
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company policy and audit requirements
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests

Competencies and Qualifications

Must-have

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or accounting roles
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and general accounting principles
  • Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to review invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and vendor relationship management ability
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies

Nice-to-Have

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating an Accounts Payable team
  • Experience supporting month-end or year-end close processes
  • Experience assisting with financial audits and preparing documentation for auditors
  • Experience helping improve AP processes, policies, or internal controls
