Your Role
As an
Accounts Payable Lead, you will:
- Manage daily workload allocation, train team members, and oversee individual and team performance against established KPIs and SLAs.
- Oversee end-to-end AP activities, including three-way invoice matching, exception resolution, and timely payment disbursements.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex invoice, payment, and vendor processing issues to determine root causes and solutions.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal controls, operational policies, procedures, and internal/external audit requests.
- Identify opportunities to standardize accounts payable workflows, reduce manual processing efforts, and strengthen controls.
What You Need
Non-negotiables
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a multi-regional and multi-currency organization.
- Proven experience leading, supervising, or coordinating an Accounts Payable processing team.
- Strong experience working within monthly accounting close timetables and ensuring internal controls operate effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and manage team performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Preferred Skills/expertise
- Experience working within a Shared Services Center (SSC) environment handling global operations.
- Hands-on proficiency with automated AP workflow tools (e.g., Esker, Coupa) and enterprise ERP systems (e.g., Oracle).
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and advanced functions).
- Fluency in the Spanish language (spoken and written).
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills with a continuous improvement mindset for service delivery.
