Accounts Payable Clerk - Claims & Reserve Processing

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Clerk - Claims & Reserve Processing is responsible for supporting financial and administrative activities related to insurance claims and reserve adjustments. This role ensures accurate data entry, documentation, and processing of claim-related transactions while maintaining compliance with internal controls and company policies. The position is primarily clerical, requiring strong attention to detail and consistency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and validate invoices and payment requests related to claims
  • Perform clerical updates to claim reserves based on instructions from adjusters or authorized personnel
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in claims and financial systems
  • Review supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy before processing
  • Assist in reconciling claim payments and reserve balances
  • Monitor and track reserve changes to ensure proper documentation and approval
  • Coordinate with claims adjusters, finance teams, and other stakeholders for clarifications
  • Maintain organized digital and/or physical records of claim transactions
  • Support audit requirements by retrieving documents and ensuring proper filing
  • Flag discrepancies or errors in claims or reserve entries for review

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus)
  • 1-2 years of clerical, accounts payable, or insurance-related experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of accounts payable processes
  • Familiarity with claims processing or insurance terminology is an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Excel and data entry systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow structured procedures and instructions
