About The Role
We are seeking an experienced
Accounts Officer / Bookkeeper to support an Australian business through a
MYOB to Xero migration, including the setup and transfer of a large inventory database with
4,000+ SKUs.
This is a hands-on, project-based accounting role requiring strong Australian bookkeeping experience, migration expertise, and a solid understanding of compliance. You will play a key role in ensuring a clean, accurate, and seamless transition with minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support end-to-end MYOB to Xero migration
- Utilise migration tools such as Jet Convert and MMC Convert (highly preferred)
- Clean, validate, and accurately transfer accounting data
- Set up and structure 4,000+ inventory SKUs in Xero
- Review pricing, tax codes, stock data, and inventory records
- Reconcile accounts pre- and post-migration
- Manage supplier, customer, invoice, and purchase records
- Support BAS preparation, GST coding, and compliance checks
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, duplicates, and data inconsistencies
- Work with stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition
- Provide post-migration bookkeeping and system support
Requirements
- Proven Australian bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of MYOB and Xero
- Previous system migration experience (essential)
- Experience using Jet Convert and/or MMC Convert (highly preferred)
- Strong understanding of BAS, GST, PAYG, and Australian compliance
- Experience in inventory-based businesses with high SKU volumes
- Advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong data accuracy
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
