Job Description

Job Overview:

The Associate Director is primarily responsible for team oversight, quality control, and client-facing execution while remaining hands-on. This role leads critical aspects of the monthly financial close process by maintaining a deep understanding of the client's business, accounting operations, and compliances.

Work Schedule:

  • 4:00am to 1:00pm

Work Setup:

  • Hybrid

Office Assignment:

  • MAKATI OFFICE: 22F Tower 1, One Ayala Corporate Center, Ayala Ave., Makati City

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and analyze the financial close package which includes financial statements and budget vs. actual analysis.
  • Support the day-to-day finance operations of the client, including activities such as reviewing A/P and expense reports, corresponding with vendors and contractors, assisting client employees with on/off-boarding and payroll questions.
  • Support the client's operations to grow and scale by participating in automation process enhancement and system implementation initiatives.
  • Assist with compliance requests from investors, banks, tax accountants, and external auditors.
  • Support the client and client's team with various analyses and ad hoc projects.
  • Review and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close deliverables prepared by direct reports ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client- specific accounting policies.
  • Identify and resolve complex close issues, reconciling discrepancies and escalating risks proactively.
  • Provide commentary insights on budget vs actual variances, trends, and key drivers to support client- decision making.
  • Participate in training to meet client's quality standards and client expectations.
  • Serve as primary day-to-day point of contact for client finance stakeholders.
  • Supervise, coach, and review the work of direct reports across one or multiple engagements.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members, including review of work during ramp- up periods.
  • Actively contributes to process improvement initiatives, including documentation of workflows and automation flows.
  • Provide the necessary leadership, judgment and administrative direction to motivate, train and develop capabilities of direct reports.
  • Involve in the recruitment and give recommendations to hire in the final recruitment and selection process of direct reports.
  • Involve in performance evaluation of direct reports and give recommendations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required.
  • CPA license is preferred. Has at least five (5) years of work experience.
  • Has leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to supervise, coach, and review the work of direct reports.
  • Enhance own capabilities through associations developed with the Operations team of the company and client.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with the clients, vendors, and auditors.
  • Detail- oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong Excel skills and adaptability to new technology and tools.
  • Technical knowledge of GAAP / IFRS / SEC accounting and reporting requirements preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and reconciliation skills.
