Job Description

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all reports and processes. The role supervises the accounting team, reviews financial statements, and supports management and the President in strategic financial planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor daily accounting activities including payables, receivables, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Review financial statements, journal entries, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and BIR/SEC regulations.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes and financial reporting.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and expense management across branches.
  • Review and approve branch cashiering reports and financial transactions.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and internal departments.
  • Lead process improvements in accounting workflows and internal controls.
  • Train and mentor accounting staff to ensure competence, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Provide management with financial analyses and insights for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accountancy; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or lead roles.
  • Strong background in financial reporting, taxation, and compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and familiar with accounting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Effective leadership and communication abilities.
  • Integrity, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
