Accounting Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible in maintaining the books of accounts and other accounting records in conformity with sound accounting principles and preparing selected Head Office and BSP reports.

- Prepares monitoring report for compliance to regulatory ratios and limits

- Prepares mandatory reports for Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)

- Prepares and files monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns to the Bureau of Internal Revenue

- Coordinates with external consultants for tax reviews and queries

- Perform monthly variance analysis (month on month, actual performance vs budget)

- Prepares accounting tickets based on approved transactions and proposed adjustments

- Conduct an annual review/update of the Accounting policy

- Prepare SOPs for the responsibilities/functions performed by the department

- Submit the audited financial statements to required regulatory bodies within the deadline

- Assists in the preparation of payment to suppliers, claimants and other creditors through check disbursement voucher

- Assists Head of Accounting in controlling and filing of all department computer print-out reports.

- Acts as the Senior Accounting Specialist reliever

- Performs other related duties assigned by the bank

Job Qualifications:

- Must be a graduate of BS Accountancy and preferably a Certified Public Accountant

- With at least 5-7 years of work experience in a banking industry; experience in a foreign bank is an advantage

- Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software

- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures

- Accuracy and attention to detail

- Aptitude for numbers
