Key Responsibilities
Impeccable Bookkeeping & Systems Management:
Take full ownership of daily bookkeeping, maintaining an obsessive level of data accuracy.
Reconcile all bank and credit card transactions, meticulously matching payments in both Odoo and Xero, ensuring the two systems are perfectly synchronised and up-to-date at all times.
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). Report them to Management regularly.
Handle AR Collections: Confidently and professionally call clients to follow up on overdue invoices, ensuring timely payments while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Maintain highly organised digital records of all receipts, invoices, and financial documents.
Chase down team members (including the founders) for missing receipts or invoices—you must be comfortable holding management accountable to compliance.
Maintain a Zero email policy
Process Improvement & Automation
Constantly audit our financial workflows. If a process isn't bulletproof, you are expected to redesign it and present your ideas. implementing rigorous cross-checks and double-validation points to eliminate errors.
Leverage AI tools and modern software automation to reduce manual data entry, streamline reporting, and increase overall efficiency.
Reporting & CFO-Level Strategy:
Prepare and present accurate end-of-month (EOM), quarterly financial statements.
Develop and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts to guide business decisions.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) pulled from both Xero and Odoo.
Prepare data for BAS (Business Activity Statements) and liaise with our accountant for lodging.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management.
- Expert-level, certified knowledge of Xero.
- Prior experience working with Australian companies.
- Understanding the Australian accounting system, GST, BAS, IAS, etc is a must
- Assertive Communication & Excellent English
Work Location
- Home-based
- Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Australian time
- Should have strong internet connection (minimum of 20 mbps)
- Should have own Laptop/PC (minimum of i5 8GB RAM)
