The Accounting Officer will review the analysis, substantiation, and reconciliation of accounts based on valid and complete supporting documents. He/she will check the accuracy of the reports for submission to the Accounting Manager. He/she will implement accounting methods, internal controls, policies and procedures in safeguarding the company's assets.
Financial Data Processing:
- Ensures timely and accurate recording of transactions by the team.
- Reviews daily/weekly accounts analysis/reconciliations/substantiations and ensures timely submission to the Accounting Manager.
- Reviews the Schedule of Accounts and Notes to Financial Statements prepared by the processors.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Complies with accounting standards, policies and procedures.
- Identifies noted and potential issues on assigned accounts, supports process improvements, and ensures follow-through on issues.
People Management:
- Supervises first-line processors who are responsible for the day-to-day operations.
- Performs consistent and effective coaching sessions to address performance gaps.
- Attends necessary training programs.
Job Requirements:
- At least 3 years of work experience in general accounting or 2 years in financial audit (internal/external), 1 year at least of which is with supervisory function.
- Experience in accruals and account analysis with consideration of complexity and volume.
- Knowledge in the use of a computerized accounting system, preferably SAP.
- Adept in the use of MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.
- Proficient in the performance of account reconciliations.
- Ability to plan and prioritize workload.
- Quick learner and self-motivated.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Methodical and organized.
- Flexible and adaptable to changes.
