The Accounting Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of daily financial transactions, regular review and reconciliation of accounting records, and support in tax compliance and regulatory reporting. This role ensures that all financial data is complete, updated, and compliant with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecord, check, and verify daily accounting transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
Review and validate source documents such as invoices, official receipts, payment vouchers, and journal entries.
Monitor and reconcile the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and bank accounts on a daily or regular basis.
Ensure all transactions are properly classified and recorded in accordance with accounting principles and tax regulations.
Assist in the preparation and filing of monthly and quarterly tax returns (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, income tax) and other statutory government reports.
Support compliance with BIR requirements and coordinate with other regulatory agencies as needed.
Maintain and update schedules for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts.
Coordinate with internal departments to validate supporting documents and clarify accounting transactions.
Prepare financial reports, summaries, and reconciliations to support month-end and periodic closing activities.
Maintain organized, accurate, and complete accounting records for audit and tax compliance purposes.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least two (2) years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably with tax compliance exposure.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and BIR tax compliance processes.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strict confidentiality of financial data.
