Accounting Officer

About the Role:

Makro Philippines (CP Axtra AC Corporation) is looking for an Accounting Officer to support day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial recording as we build our finance function from the ground up. Key Responsibilities:

• Record financial transactions accurately and on time, in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards

• Maintain asset and liability records, including inventory and fixed assets

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements

• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, and customer accounts

• Support the maintenance of accounting systems and chart of accounts

• Prepare supporting documentation for OPEX, CAPEX, and related tax requirements prior to payment

• Assist in the preparation of tax filings and statutory reports

• Maintain proper documentation to support audits and tax filings

• Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• At least 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience; retail industry experience is an advantage

• Working knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations

• Proficient in MS Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems is a plus

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Good organizational and communication skills

• Willingness to learn and adapt in a growing startup environment
