Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. The role also supports management in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors for year-end audit requirements.
2. Accounting Operations Management
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation functions.
- Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
4. Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and mentor the accounting staff.
- Assign tasks, review work performance, and ensure team productivity.
- Promote adherence to company policies and procedures.
5. Taxation
- Oversee tax filings, including VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance.
6. Financial Analysis
- Analyze financial data, trends, and KPI performance.
- Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
- CPA license preferred but not required (depending on company requirement).
- At least 35 years of relevant experience, with 12 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Xero).
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
