The main responsibilities of a ACCOUNTING MANAGER include:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises an individual or a small group of accounting professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes.
- Assign tasks, trains and develops staff
- Conducts performance evaluations
- Fosters a positive work environment.
- Others, as assigned and/or needed.
Duties/Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversees the calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting records; ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger;
- Ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures;
- Monitors changes in accounting standards, preparing regulatory filings, and staying informed about industry-specific regulations
- This includes evaluating and improving internal financial controls, recommending policy changes, and ensuring adherence to established policies.
- This may involve implementing new accounting software, automating manual tasks, and streamlining workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Prepare and oversees the transactions of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date recording of financial transactions;
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations;
- Implement and monitor control procedures, perform periodic internal audits, and address any control deficiencies. Provide requested information for external audits
- Works closely with local tax professionals to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:
- At least 4 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy (BSA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Proven experience leading and managing a team, with at least 4 direct reports
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in US GAAP financial reporting
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (non-negotiable)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
