We own and operate the local Social Media accounts and official E-Commerce Flagship Stores and distribute nationwide through a network of the country's top retailers, regional distributors, and local pet shops. Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: San Juan City

Work Hours: 08:30 AM to 05:30 PM
The Accounting Manager will lead the day-to-day accounting operations of Hyperbrands Corporation, ensuring accurate financial records, strong internal controls, timely reporting, and a well-structured accounting function.
This role will manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Accounting, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, compliance support, and accounting processes within AutoCount. The objective is to build a reliable accounting foundation that enables the Finance Planning & Finance Manager to focus on budgeting, scorecards, financial analysis, cash flow planning, business performance, and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting Operations and Financial Records
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded, classified, supported, and updated in AutoCount.
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records across all business activities.
- Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, controls, and documentation standards.
- Ensure all accounting activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
2. Financial Statement Preparation
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of:
- Income Statement (Profit & Loss)
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow Statement
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and working papers.
- Analyze variances and investigate unusual balances or transactions.
- Ensure management receives timely and reliable financial information.
3. Team Leadership and Management
- Directly manage and develop the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
- Establish clear responsibilities, workflows, deadlines, and accountability within the department.
- Train, coach, and monitor team performance.
- Develop standard operating procedures, checklists, approval workflows, and reporting structures.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement.
4. Accounts Payable Management
- Oversee supplier payables, invoice processing, payment schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure proper validation and approval of supplier transactions.
- Monitor payable aging and payment obligations.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Procurement regarding purchases, deliveries, and supplier reconciliations.
5. Accounts Receivable Management
- Oversee customer billings, collections, account reconciliations, deductions, and aging reports.
- Ensure accurate recording of collections and customer balances.
- Work closely with Sales, Key Accounts, E-Commerce, and Finance teams to resolve billing and collection issues.
- Improve visibility and follow-up on overdue receivables.
6. Reconciliation, Controls, and Due Diligence
- Review and approve bank reconciliations, customer reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules.
- Perform due diligence and detailed review of accounting transactions and supporting documents.
- Strengthen internal controls over payments, collections, expenses, inventory-related transactions, and financial reporting.
- Identify accounting risks, discrepancies, and process gaps and implement corrective actions.
7. Compliance and Audit Support
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and government agencies.
- Ensure accounting records are audit-ready and properly documented.
- Support tax filings, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation for compliance purposes.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, HR, and Management to ensure accurate financial information.
- Support management reporting requirements and financial analysis initiatives.
- Provide timely and reliable accounting data for business decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Management, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
- Strong experience in General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, and Compliance.
- Experience with AutoCount or similar ERP/accounting systems is highly preferred.
- FMCG, distribution, retail, importation, or trading industry experience is an advantage.
