Job Description

The Accounting Manager in an investment banking environment is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. This role requires deep expertise in accounting standards, financial instruments, and banking operations, with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and strategic insight. The Accounting Manager will support treasury, trading, and investment banking operations, ensuring alignment with SEC, BIR, and BSP regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and supervise daily accounting operations, including general ledger, disbursements, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and regulatory disclosures.
  • Coordinate and lead statutory audits, addressing auditor queries and ensuring timely completion.
  • Monitor compliance with SEC, BIR, and BSP regulations.
  • Support treasury and trading operations with accurate financial data and reporting.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain accurate books and records across all financial levels.
  • Perform regular reconciliation of general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, auditors, and regulators to ensure financial integrity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
  • 610 years of work experience, including 35 years in banking or investment banking.
  • Exposure to treasury trading, investment banking operations, or back-office functions.

COMPETENCIES:

Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience in financial reporting and tax compliance.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and bank accounting.
  • Familiarity with financial instruments and investment banking products.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex financial and compliance issues.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.

Initiative & Independence

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

Technical Proficiency

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and financial systems is a plus.
