Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, timely financial reporting, compliance with Philippine accounting and tax requirements, and effective internal financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting Operations
Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, and bank reconciliation.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
Review journal entries, invoices, payments, receipts, and supporting documents.
Maintain proper accounting records and documentation.
2. Financial Reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Provide management with financial reports, analysis, and recommendations.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
Prepare schedules and supporting documents required for management reporting and audits.
3. Tax and Regulatory Compliance
Ensure timely preparation and filing of BIR tax returns and other statutory requirements.
Monitor compliance with Philippine tax laws, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies when necessary.
Maintain complete records for tax and regulatory audits.
4. Budgeting and Financial Control
Assist management in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor expenses and identify variances against approved budgets.
Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
5. Cash Flow and Working Capital
Monitor cash position, collections, payables, and working capital requirements.
Coordinate with management regarding cash requirements and payment schedules.
Review customer receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
6. Audit and Compliance
Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
Ensure audit requirements are submitted accurately and on time.
Address audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.
7. Team Management
Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff.
Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.
Review the work of accounting personnel to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Promote proper segregation of duties and accountability within the accounting team.
8. Management Support
Provide financial information and analysis to management for decision-making.
Support business planning, cost-control initiatives, and financial improvement programs.
Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA license is preferred.
At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with supervisory or managerial experience.
Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting and taxation requirements.
Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, audit, and internal controls.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Good communication and leadership skills.

Authority and Accountability
The Accounting Manager is accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of the company's accounting and financial information and for ensuring that accounting activities comply with company policies and applicable Philippine laws and regulations.
