The role
The Accounting Head oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. This role is responsible for managing a team of accountants, preparing financial statements, and supporting strategic financial planning.
Your Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely submission of audit requirements.
- Manage tax compliance activities, including preparation and filing of tax returns, and ensure adherence to local tax regulations.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate financial reports and forecasts for management decision-making.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and reporting.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development to the accounting team.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
- Proven leadership/managerial role experience in accounting, preferably in FMCG, retail, or manufacturing companies.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
