Job Summary
The Accounting Associate will handle day-to-day accounting transactions, including invoicing, purchase order processing, and monitoring of accounts receivable and accounts payable. The role also supports accounting-related documentation for clients, including those dealing with PEZA-registered companies, import, and export transactions. Knowledge of PEZA requirements is an advantage but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Invoicing & Sales Documentation
- Prepare and issue sales invoices for every approved Purchase Order.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of invoices and supporting documents.
Purchase Orders & Supplier Coordination
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders for all suppliers.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding billing, deliveries, and documentation.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Update and maintain customer accounts.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and assist in collection follow-ups.
- Perform regular reconciliation of customer balances.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Update and maintain supplier accounts.
- Monitor payables and assist in timely processing of payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
General Accounting Support
- Assist in recording accounting transactions and maintaining books of accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as may be assigned.
Client Support (PEZA / Import & Export Advantage)
- Assist in accounting-related documentation for clients transacting with PEZA-registered companies.
- Support import and export documentation in coordination with internal teams and clients.
- Familiarity with PEZA requirements is an advantage but not mandatory.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or related course.
- 12 years accounting experience, preferably in a trading company.
- Knowledge of invoicing, Purchase Orders, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
- Exposure to PEZA, import, or export transactions is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Proficient in MS Excel and basic accounting software.
Probationary Terms
- Six (6) months probationary period, subject to performance evaluation.
- Regularization upon satisfactory performance and compliance with company standards.
