The Accounting Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely compliance with government regulations, and supporting the administrative functions of the company. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in bookkeeping, and the ability to manage general office operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Role:
Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system (manual or software-based).
Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts, journals, and financial reports.
Monitor accounts receivable and payable, and reconcile bank statements.
Prepare BIR compliance reports, including VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax Returns, and other statutory filings.
Ensure timely remittance and submission of required government contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
Assist in payroll preparation and related financial reports.
Coordinate with external auditors, accountants, and government agencies as needed.
Administrative Support:
Oversee day-to-day office operations and ensure a smooth workflow.
Manage office supplies, procurement, and inventory.
Maintain employee records and assist in HR administrative tasks when necessary.
Coordinate with service providers, contractors, and external vendors.
Support management with ad hoc administrative or operational requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping and office administration.
Familiarity with Philippine tax regulations, BIR processes, and government compliance requirements.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office applications.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and high level of integrity.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
