The Role

As the Accounting and Compliance Officer, you will sit at the heart of our clients financial control environments.

Your role is to ensure their finance function and wider organisation are structured, compliant, efficient and reliable - giving trustees and CEOs confidence in their numbers and governance.

You will help charities move from reactive finance to well-designed financial systems. This role blends technical accounting, operational improvement and compliance monitoring.

  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes and ensuring audit readiness
  • Monitoring compliance with charity regulations and financial policies
  • Support monthly financial reporting efforts by ensuring compliance risks are embedded
  • Supporting the development and implementation of financial policies and controls
  • Reviewing restricted and designated fund allocations
  • Managing client onboarding and AML/KYC completion
  • Strengthening financial processes and workflows to reduce risk
  • Assisting with regulatory reporting and governance documentation
  • Collaborating closely with client finance teams and trustees
  • Identifying opportunities to improve clarity, efficiency and financial resilience

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience
  • Strong grounding in compliance, financial controls and regulatory processes
  • Solid bookkeeping and accounting technical ability
  • Excellent attention to detail and structured thinking
  • Clear, professional communication skills with excellent English
  • Able to work independently and take ownership in a remote environment
  • Experience working with charities or NGOs is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

What You'll Receive

  • Fully remote working
  • Great work-life balance
  • High-spec company laptop
  • Private healthcare cover
  • Monthly wellbeing allowance
  • Clear progression to Manager
  • Structured learning and development support
  • A genuinely supportive and caring team culture
  • Clear performance expectations and opportunities to grow
  • Work closely with a friendly CEO and brilliant Head of Finance

Why Join Us

You'll be part of a fast-growing, purpose-driven finance firm working exclusively with wonderful charities. Your work will directly contribute to stronger governance, better compliance, and more sustainable organisations.
