Your Role as an Accountant
As an Accountant, you'll play an important role in maintaining strong financial controls and supporting revenue management across the business. You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and internal teams to oversee accounts receivable, monitor credit risks, and provide insights that support sound financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Credit & Debtor Management
- Manage end-to-end accounts receivable and collections activities
- Oversee billing processes and debtor ledger integrity (DRs/CRs)
- Review and approve write-offs in line with company policies
- Coordinate with external collection agencies
- Monitor bad debts and provisioning
- Oversee member credits, infringements, and fines
- Support damage recovery activities and optimization
Credit Risk & Revenue Protection
- Conduct credit reviews and risk assessments
- Monitor bad debt expense as a percentage of revenue
- Identify potential revenue leakage risks
- Support initiatives that strengthen revenue protection and financial controls
- Contribute to revenue reporting and analysis
Reporting & Governance
- Prepare reports for management and debtors committee reviews
- Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails
- Assist in financial reviews and operational performance analysis
Systems & Process Support
- Maintain the integrity of finance systems related to accounts receivable
- Act as a key contact for system-related debtor issue
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cash flow and reduce risk
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve billing and credit issues
- Liaise with external stakeholders including collection agencies
- Manage expectations across operational and finance teams
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in credit collections, accounts receivable, or general accounting
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP)
- Experience with NetSuite or similar mid-tier ERP systems is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage internal and external expectations effectively
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and support the team
- Resilient and adaptable in changing priorities and fast-paced environments
