Location: Full Remote (Philippine-based preferred)

Role Description

We are looking to add a full-time Remote Accountant to our team. This role will play a key part in building, managing, and maintaining large datasets in Excel to support ongoing software development initiatives.

In addition to data-focused work, the role will involve a range of accounting responsibilities including but not limited to general bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, tax remittances, and preparation of management reports.

This position requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. The role involves extensive spreadsheet work, including data configuration, manipulation, and organization. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working with complex datasets in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Qualifications

Major Excel Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain large data sets using Microsoft Excel
  • Build and implement Microsoft Excel macros
  • Work with V-look ups, macros, pivots tables, etc.

 

Major Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Making entries into accounting software and internal databases as needed
  • Integrate with Company financial systems as required
  • Accurately pay invoices in accordance with the payment terms
  • Manage accounts receivable - invoicing and performing general accounting duties
  • Manage accounts payable
  • Process payroll
  • Reconcile financial statements and AR and AP accounts
  • Prepare statistical and financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents
  • Government reporting, preparing returns and remittances
  • Keep track of and maintain client chargebacks
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and Required Experience:

  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in related field
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel
  • CPA designation required
  • QuickBooks competency
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting company preferred (KPMG, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) *preferred
  • Experience using Quick Books Online, Zoho, DEXT, Wise.com and Plooto are assets
  • Experience with Canadian tax compliance and periodic filings, including GST/HST, payroll remittances (CRA), and corporate tax support
  • Familiarity with CRA requirements, deadlines, and online filing systems (e.g., My Business Account)
