Accountant- Quickbooks Expert
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time, with a 1-hour unpaid break
Salary: $1,400/m (non-taxable)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an exceptionally motivated, reliable, and hands-on Accountant- QuickBooks Expert with an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferred but not required) and deep expertise in both Construction, Rental, and SaaS accounting. This role is critical to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, requiring ownership of the entire accounting lifecycle, from initial transaction categorization through month-end closing. The ideal candidate is highly self-sufficient, responsive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Accounting Ownership: Independently manage and execute the entire bookkeeping process, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Accounts Payable (AP) Management: Own the full AP cycle, including accurately entering vendor bills, managing documentation, and ensuring timely payment processing.
- Client Approval Workflow: Establish and manage efficient workflows for obtaining necessary approvals from clients or management prior to bill payment and execution of major transactions.
- Payroll Administration: Oversee and run the company payroll process accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax and labor regulations.
- Transaction Processing: Categorize, verify, and process all financial transactions, including proper cost categorization relevant to construction projects (e.g., job costing) and SaaS-specific revenue recognition.
- Month-End Close: Execute a timely and efficient month-end closing process, including preparation and entry of all necessary Adjusting Journal Entries (AJEs).
- Reconciliation: Perform daily/weekly reconciliation of all bank accounts and credit card accounts with meticulous attention to detail.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in preparing internal financial statements and provide insightful analysis on performance metrics (e.g., WIP, deferred revenue, COGS, etc.).
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements, especially those related to construction contracts (ASC 606/340) and SaaS revenue (ASC 606).
Qualifications and Professional Credentials
Certification: An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred but not required.
Experience: 1520 years of experience and extensive use of QuickBooks Online
Industry & Technical Expertise
- Dual-Industry Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of accounting principles in Construction, Rental, and SaaS environments.
- Construction: Strong understanding of job costing, percentage-of-completion method, and managing Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
- SaaS: Practical experience with subscription revenue recognition (ASC 606/deferred revenue), SaaS COGS, and capitalization of internal-use software development costs.

Software Proficiencies
- Candidates must have verifiable, hands-on experience with the following:
- Core ERP/Accounting:
- QuickBooks Online Plus & Advanced (QBO) 15-20 of experience and extensive use of QuickBooks Online
Financial/Reporting:
- Microsoft Excel Expert level, including advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex data analysis
- Construction/Job Costing:
- Specialized software like Procore, Sage 100 Contractor, or equivalent Strong proficiency
- SaaS/Billing:
- Platforms such as Melio, Bill.com, Ramp, etc.
